This is my first post. Great forum by the way!
I am a newbie to the web commerce scene and have set up my first site: www.ruggedpc.co.za using the Atahualpa and WP e-commerce plugin.
When I do a google search, my products on the WP e-commerce plugin do not display.
I have searched for many days on what the issue could be and have found only a few sites that have identified this problem. They are:
http://dewpointproductions.com/wp-co...mmerce-seo.pdf and http://wordpress4dummies.info/2009/0...-seo-tutorial/
Both these sites advise that one would need to amend code within the theme as it is the theme that prevents WP e-commerce from being SEO friendly?!?
Additional code needs to be inserted in the "Header.php" file of the Atahualpa theme as well as changes to the "H1 and H2" format and additional tweaks here and there.
I am not a "code guy" and my webmaster expertise is pretty much WYSIWYG. The thought of playing around with the settings of Atahualpa theme scares me to death
I think Atahualpa is the coolest and most versatile Wordpress theme available. WP e-commerce seems to be the "best" available out of the others I have tested, but is still has several shortcomings.
If there was a way to tweak the Atahualpa theme as per the guidelines thus making WP e-commerce SEO friendly, I firmly believe that Atahualpa will become the benchmark for ALL other Wordpress themes!
Is there anyone who can guide me on how to do this?
Thanking you in advance.
