Brand new to WP, using Atahualpa - need help with subscribe widget

I've just moved to WP from blogger. On blogger I had a block that showed my followers, with a link to become a follower. I believe the 'subscribe' widget to be a similar thing, so I'm trying to figure out how to use it.

I have it showing up in the right column of my blog (appliedlifeacademy.com). I would like to edit it such that the only subscribe option is for posts, not for comments nor for RSS. Where would I do that editing?

Does the subscribe widget provide for a block of avatar images of those who have subscribed? Is there a way to get such a thing?

Thanks, and fair warning, I'll probably have more questions later.
