Sidebar Continue

Hi there,
I am in the process of transferring my blog into your template, which I'm thrilled is so great. I have ran into a problem. I am adding a background color with an image to my sidebars and it does not continue down the page. It ends when my widgets end. How can I make it continue to the bottom of the page.
