yes you should be able to do it,

you can try using the %meta('fieldname')% and have that meta field filled in with html pointing at the image

if you mean you want to click on the picture and have it take you somewhere, you have to code it as a link. If you want it to take you to a particular post, you can find the address of the post by visiting that post and grabbing the address from the browser address bar.

if you want to automate all of this, then you are going to have to dig into the wordpress documentation to learn how to reference your posts and how to code them
