How to limit number of posts displayed on home page

Sorry, but I cannot seem to find where I set the number of posts that display on the home page. The default seems to be 10. Can someone point me to the right place? Thanks!

Thanks! I always get confused between which options are in WordPress and which are specific to the theme.
