Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Email Alerts Plugin - How to edit message text?

We are using the Email Alerts plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/email-alerts/) to provide e-mail notifications to our Author-level users when new posts or comments are published on our site.

This light and fast plugin works beautifully for this purpose! But, we would like to edit the message text that is sent in the new post e-mail notices. Can anyone tell us how and where to do that? (Have tried to contact the plugin author, but his contact form on his website appears not to be working.)

Would really appreciate help!

Using Wordpress 3.2.1 and Atahualpa 3.6.4.

Many thanks!

Look thru the source of the plugin for the text and try changing it.

Yes, I have done that. But, can't find the message text anywhere in the files for this plugin that appear under Plugins > Editor.

I will be grateful for any more suggestions!

The plugin's text for the e-mail notice of a new post now reads:

"Subject: [name of website]: Post published

[Userername],

A new post, [linked title of the new post is here], by [name of post author] ([e-mail address of post author]), has been published.

Approved by: [name of post author] ([e-mail address of post author])

(Email Alerts plugin)"

I want to make only the following changes:

-- After "has been published," add "on [name of website]."

-- Delete "Approved by: [name of post author] ([e-mail address of post author])," and instead put: "You must sign in on [name of website] first, in order for the above link to the new post to work.

This e-mail is sent automatically from [name of website]; please do not reply to this e-mail."

A quick look at the plugin tells me I'd have to spend time digging into it and that's not the function of this forum. If you want to hire me to dig into it, contact me with a PM and I'll send you my rates.
