Using the category and archives widgets in the sidebar. I'd like it to be so that the lists appear collapsed, on click they will expand to show the post titles. I've searched to forums--seems most people are having problems with collapsing.

It's probably some setting I'm missing, but I can't figure out how to get the post titles to show at all.

My archives look like this (no post titles at all):

Here's how I'd like them archives and category widgets in the side bar to be expanded:

Any widget that doesn't start with 'BFA' is not part of the theme. If it is part of a plugin, then you should contact the author, if it is a WordPress widget, you should post this over at wordpress.org. They will have much more expertise at answering you there.

Okay. Can you tell me if there are any settings w/in the theme to turn showing of the post titles on/off? Maybe there is something checked that shouldn't be?

There is an option - see the seo options in the theme - but I don't think it will help
