Plugin for Custom 404 Page
Anyone have a recommendation for a plugin that is current for creating a custom 404 page?
I can't find anywhere in the Atahualpa Theme Options to do this. Norm |
You can always copy the 404.php from twentyfourteen and use that.

Thanks, Juggledad.
I take it that will override the text that shows up now? |
there are two cases for a not found
1) you do a search and nothig is found 2) you enter a url for the site for a page that doesn't exist. If you don't have a 404.php then both cases display the information that is at teh bottom of 'index.php'. If you have a 404.php then the second case displays what you have in the 404.php Hmmm, I wonder if the infer in the index.php should be a theme option... |
That'd be great. I can only speak for myself, but learning how to customize the 404 by changing a PHP script is daunting.
Atahualpa is, bar none, the best theme for those of us who are not well versed in HTML and CSS. Having the option to create a great 404 Error page would be really nice. As I'm going through Google's SEO information they speak at length about the importance of a 404 page that actually provides links back to pertinent information and encourages the visitor to remain on the site. |
added RFE to To Do for 3.7.19
