Help with Flash banner, static banners on remaining pages
Flynn,
I have PMed you about this. I'd rather someone else do this, as the site is live and I don't want it to go down while I'm trying to fix it. I trust someone else with a greater level of expertise to get it done correctly. Me, I would screw it up beyond recognition, for sure. :( 1. Ability to embed a Flash header on the home page. I tried it, it doesn't work. The NextGen sidebar slideshow doesn't work either. We need a slideshow approx 200 px square (I will supply images) in the body of the home page too. I don't know if there's a conflict that's causing the NextGen slide show to not work, but I'm at my wit's end. :confused: 2. Ability to create static headers for remaining pages. I've seen this in another topic, but I just don't have the confidence to do this correctly without screwing up the site's look and feel. I appreciate your help. This is a great theme. |
Part of #1 has been solved - the Nextgen Sidebar Widget is now working.
I believe the reason it was down is because the theme didn't like the staging URL. Now the site is live, and the slideshow works. Now to get the slideshow to work as a rotating header. |
What did you mean about the 'staging' url?
Now that you have the slideshow working in the sidebar, the code from the other post should work fine. The one thing to remember with using the NextGen Slideshow is that the person viewing the site, has to have the flsah player plugin installed on their machine for it to work. |
staging url = subdomain.yourdomain.com rather than yourdomain.com.
I will try this but this still doesn't solve the "different headers on different pages" dilemma. :( |
Did you attempt to follow the directions in http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthr...c+header+page? It's actaully pretty easy and elegant in 3.3.3
1) find '<body...' on the page you want to define a header on 2) find the body page number (<body id="body-page-77" class="body....) <= this is page 77 3) add an image to the image/header folder (say 'image77.jpg') 4) add the following to css insert HTML Code:
/* Page 77 - mydescription */ |
I really appreciate the help, but I haven't a clue where to add this code, I'm not a programmer. I'm trying the best that I can but right now being in a panic doesn't help any. I just need someone to do this for me. :(

You could also post it at rentacoder.com or scriptlance.com. You should get reasonable offers quick. I've seen a few Atahualpa related jobs posted on these freelancer sites |
