Archive page shows post box help, and single post on front page help
 

This may be more of a Wordpress issue but I created a blank page and assigned the page ID in the Atahualpa Archives section. They seem to work fine but the problem is my page doesn't appear to have been blank, there is a 1 pixel square around a "post" as my style has such a square around all posts. Problem is, I don't want an empty box on top of the Archives. How do I get rid of this box or create a truly blank page?

Also, I don't see anywhere in the theme to indicate to show only 1 post on the blog's front. I want only 1 post to show there. I don't want to change the "Reading" setting in WP to Blog pages show at most 1 post as that would limit all pages, such as the archives page. Any suggestions?
