Can't add widgets to new widget area

3.6.7 and latest version of Wordpress -
The new widget area I created shows up on the add Widgets page, but the dropdown area where I'd drag a widget into doesn't dropdown at all. Anyone have any insight as to what I can do to fix that?

Do you have all the 3.6.7 patches applied?

Patch 367-01: Odd effects when 'CSS: Compress' = 'Yes'
BUGFIX 367-02 is incorporated in BUGFIX 367-04
Patch 367-03: PHP errors when adding widget areas in index.php
Patch 367-04: Hovering over a Post/Page title only shows "Permanent Link to"
Patch 367-05: Site Title appended after the 'WordPress SEO by Yoast' title

FYI - I have applied all patches. The new widget area dropdown to drag widgets into them works in IE but still not in Firefox.

try disabling all plugins to see if there is a conflict
