[SOLVED] TinyMCE Advanced and Transparent .png images

I created a table in TinyMCE advanced on my contact page for www.thebakingyogi.com and the png images (that are the same as in the upper right corner of contact page) in the table are not showing up as transparent. I am running the 3.9.1 version of WordPress. Please help.

Do you have a caching plugin active?

paulaham Jul 8, 2014 12:01 PM

I believe I do. WP Super Cache is active.

Do you understand what a caching plugin does?

I guess not if my same transparent image shows up as transparent in one place and not the other.

A caching plugin makes a copy of a page and puts it into a cache and displays that cached page to anyone who visites the site until some event - like a period of time elapses or someone manually flushes the cache - happens. At that point it will create another copy of the page to be displayed.

Test (you will get 50% for each correct answer - passing grade is 100)
1) if a page, like the 'contact' page is cached and someone makes a change to that page or the theme, what will the visitor to the site see?
2) How can you change this effect?

The visitor will see the old page until time lapses or I do something to clear out the cache. ????

All png files on my web site have always been transparent.

CORRECT
You will also see the old page till the time lapses. This is why is is not a good idea to to have a caching plugin active when doing development on a site - you won't see the changes right away.

I see the icons in the center area of your contact page.

Good to know. I just deactivated it.

If you look at the images in the center of the page, they are not transparent. If you look at the same images at the upper right hand corner, they are. Why aren't my png files showing as transparent in the middle of the page?

You have added an image to a post and there is CSS applied to the post img - check the option at ATO->Style IMAGES

I deleted it all out and it worked. Thanks so much.
