[SOLVED] Can updates avoid deleting images folder?

Having just updated Atahualpa for the second time I am wondering if it would be possible for updates not to delete images which have been added to the images folder?

At present there is a need to manually FTP our logo image and also the rolling header images we use.

If it was possible to prevent user images from being deleted (and original ones from being reloaded) it would very much be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

the answer is 'it depends'

There is a wordpress requirement that all parts of a theme be in the theme folder - in this case it means the header images.

If you do an automatic wordpress upgrade, it deletes ALL the content of the theme folder before installing the new contents (thus the images are wiped out.

If you do a manual install, you could delete everything but the images/header folder and then upload everything but the images/header folder thus preserving your images.

There is a good possibility that in a future release you will be able to put your images in a folder in the wp-content folder and just point to it - no time frame at the moment, sorry.

Thanks for a quick and helpful reply.

I'll try a manual install next time and see if that is easier than reloading the images manually. Not something I have done before.

Thanks again.
