[SOLVED] How do I remove the archives and categories widget in the left sidebar?

I found the code for the stuff in the right sidebar but not the left. There are no widgets added so I'm a bit lost :)

those are the wordpress default widgets. the will show up until you add a widget to that sidebar. At thea point wordpress realizes you are taking control and removes the default ones.

Same hold true for the right sidebar
