Facebook Share Preview won't show up!!
Hey there. I'm having an issue with facebook share. I can't seem to get a thumbnail and description preview when I type in any URLs from my site http://superchief.tv on facebook's share. All I get is the address to the the URL.
I googled it and I got this: (from facebook help center http://www.facebook.com/help.php/?page=787) I don’t have a preview for my link. If a preview is not displaying correctly for your URL, you may need to contact the webmaster of the site you are trying to share to check whether it meets Facebook's requirements. In order to generate a Share preview successfully, a website must include the following three meta tags in its source HTML: <meta name="title" content="Article headline here" /> <meta name="description" content="Article summary here" /> <link rel="image_src" href="http://www.example.com" /> Please make sure that this site includes these tags in the section of its HTML. Also, note that these tags are case-sensitive and URLs must be absolute. For more information, click the "How do I make sure the Share Preview works?" link at the bottom of http://www.facebook.com/share_partners.php. So I put this code: <meta name="title" content="Title Here" /> <meta name="description" content="Description Here" /> <link rel="image_src" href="http://superchief.tv" /> into the HTML Inserts:Header section where you can Add HTML/CSS Inserts. I'm obviously doing this wrong because its not working at all. Please please please HELP!! Thanks lots! JJ |
This recently started happening to me as well. Images and previews had been showing. They are not showing now. Any ideas? Can we set this meta data to auto some how?

Same problem here. It has always worked before, but now neither the Facebook share-script/widget or when I manually share the link to my site at facebook is working. All that shows up is the URL, both as title and description.
I'm guessing some SEO-code has gone haywire in a recent update of Atahualpa or Wordpress. Help, anyone? |
Anyone? :(

Worked for me today. Here is what I did.
"Nothing" Some days it works, some weeks it doesn't. "IS THERE SOMEONE WHO CAN SAVE US?!?" |
Has to do with the AddThis button, which conflicts with Facebook code. AddThis is aware of the issue and working with Facebook on a solution. You can remove the button to post a link on Facebook, and AddThis provides a workaround: http://www.addthis.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23256

It appears that this has been fixed by FB. I have not had an issue in some time.
