[SOLVED] Having a weird issue with the search results
On WP 2.8.4 and Ata 3.4.4. I recently uploaded a bunch of content in the new version of my website and now the search results are acting wacky. The content that was cut and pasted into the backend works fine in the search but once one of the uploaded posts shows up in the search, the link doesn't land on the right results page. I upgraded to Search Unleashed and it still does the same thing.
Example: test website is here: http://www.tayloreason.com/test/wordpress/ I type in 'foodie' in the search box and click on "An American foodie in China". The headline link goes to an odd results page. Anyone else experienced the same thing after uploading content through the PhP backend on their host site :confused:? |
the problem is with your permalinks. I'll bet you have them set to just year and month, This means that every post posted in may of 2009 will have a premalink of ....wordpress/2009/05
So, if you have 10 posts and they all have that premalink and you look for one, you will get them all. After you do the search, page thru the list and you will find the one you are looking for. You may want to change the premalink format to include the post title |
Thanks! How do I change the permalinks? I don't think I've run across that yet...?

Permalinks are a WordPress item.
Go to dashboard->settings->permalinks |
Thanks!!! That did it :)
