Want to have just the content area in my custom page template with just the header
 

Hi,
I am looking for a custom page template with only the header image and menu and the content area spanning the full width without any side bars along with the footer.
Currently I have been able to remove the lists which have the side bars but the space left by side bars still is empty an dthe content does not stretch to the full width.Below is the code which I copied from index.php and modified. Atahualpa theme 3.7.3
Please help where to modify the code.

there is a 'HOWTO: create a 'no sidebar' template (or 1, 2, 3 or 4 sidebar template)' in the Gold Forums Tutorials.

Thanks,but unfortunately I'm unable to access the gold forums.It shows no posts available to me.
I have solved the problem of content displaying on the full width of the page without the side bars. Now I need just the menu bars at the top to vanish. I just need the header image to be displayed.
Any options to do this with Atahualpa 3.7.3 ?
