comments appear when i edit/change copy

hi - it seems that when i edit the copy on a page or on a post, i end with with a comment (showing some text that i changed) on another page/page?! why would that be happening? thanks for any ideas...

Can you please give a URL to show an example?

I have no idea. Is this consistent? What versions of Atahualpa and WordPress? Do you have any plugins installed?

wppg Aug 11, 2010 09:26 AM

i have the latest WP and 3.49 ATO and no plugins except default ones and not using any of them...

Is the problem repeatable?

i have 2 posts and 5 "pages" and it seems to happen when i edit/update only the posts... i think (trying to look at all the comments that have come in in the past 24 hours since it started...) they also seem to somehow reference (i.e. have the name/title) of the "page" names in the comment... very weird... but no comments can/do appear on any of the "pages"

I wish I had a quick answer for you. This looks like it is related more to WordPress than Atahualpa. If you can switch to the 2010 theme and the problem persists that will indicate that is WordPress related.

Unless there is something else that happened that you haven't mentioned, this sounds like a corruption in the database where a comment has the ID of the wrong post.

Can you backup the database?

maybe that's what it is/was... but fyi since i uploaded 3.53 it's not happening anymore although i didn't do any database backup (not sure how to do that!) thanks
