[SOLVED] If Home Page is static where does blog go?

I did a search and didn't find an answer to this so my apologies if it has already been asked. I am working on a functioning WordPress site that has been using a blog for a home page. I've been asked to change the site so there is a static home page and the blog becomes another page on the page menu bar. I know I can assign a static home page in Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading, but if I do, what becomes of the blog page? Does it automagically become a page called "Blog" in the page menu bar? I am reluctant to try this without knowing what will happen since it is a functioning web site.

Thanks!

you define a page and using the wordpress dashboard->settings->reading you point the blog to that page
