[SOLVED] Change arrow color in sub-menu drop down

I've scoured the CSS for the right item for the double-arrows used for the drop-down sub-menus but I can't identify which one is it.

1) What's the item I should change in the CSS inserts? It's not obvious to me.
2) Will the black/white setting in the menu settings overwrite this?

Thanks!

the arrows are gif's in the image folder. easiest thing is to
1) make a copy of the file 'expand-down-white.gif' as 'expand-down-white-old.gif'.
2) edit 'expand-down-white.gif' and change the color
3) use the colored gif
