[SOLVED] Fixed width layout not working

Hey Forum,

I am having troubles centering my layout, and more specifically, when I specify a fixed width (990px) in ATO/Style & Configure LAYOUT, no change occurs. I have been poking around all of the setings and figure out what to do.

Thanks,
harpek

I am using Atahualpa 3.5.3 with Wordpress 3.0.4

Did you edit any of the theme files.

I added custom widget areas to the header and footer, and removed all the original footer info.

disable all your plugins and test it again

I just disabled all plug-ins and that does not seem to be the issue. :(

Do you have 'Dropdown Menu Widget'? and did you disable that?

harpek Jan 19, 2011 05:30 PM

I do! But I disabled that plug-in and no change in layout width or orientation.

did you have to add something for that plugin to the ato->Add HTML/CSS Inserts->HTML Inserts: Body Tag? if so take it out

harpek Jan 19, 2011 06:48 PM

Hey juggledad, I didn't add any extra CSS/HTML for the Dropdown Menu widge to work.

OH YAY! I had some preload script in the body tag insert field that I removed. When I refreshed the site, the layout snapped to the center and to my fixed width. Happiness in my world :)
