Keeping formats consistent with main page

I have a quick question that may be more complicated to explain to me than to others because I have absolutely no PHP experience whatsoever. I'm an HTML and CSS guy, but any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Here is the site: newdust.com

Notice the black striped background of the body, and the blue striped background in the container where the top advertisement resides. If you click on any of the tags on the left sidebar, click any of the months under the archive, or even go to the next page of posts, those two formats disappear. I've read around and it appears that this is a PHP issue regarding the way these particular sections of the blog are rendered, but when I view the source of any of these pages I can see the CSS that I entered into the main stylesheet that should make it to where they follow suit with the main page. In other words, to a purely HTML/CSS guy like myself, what I see happening in the source code isn't happening on the live page. So I'm a bit stumped at this point. All signs point to PHP. Any ideas?

What version of Atahualpa and WP?

Have you modified the CSS? It is not the standard that I would expect to see in the code.

Yes, I have made quite a few changes to the CSS. I'm currently using Atahualpa 3.2, and Wordpress 2.8.

Well
1) I'd suggest migrating to 3.4.4
2) move all your CSS into ATO->Add HTML/CSS Inserts->CSS Inserts so they won't be effected by new releases

other than that, it is something you have done with the CSS and you are going to have to dig in to find it.

If you want me to spend the time to figure this out, send me a PM and I'll quote you my rates.

Thanks alot, I appreciate the suggestions. Will upgrading to 3.4.4 wipe out all of the customizations I made within the ATO sections? Other than that, you're saying that this issue is not a PHP issue, but a purely CSS issue right?

I think so, don't see how php would cause this unless is was a peice of code that was preventing some part of the HTML for the page to be built.
