Page Menu items disappear when window is re-sized in IE

I'm having the same problem, some of the menu items will just disappear sometimes when i visit some pages (not when resizing the browser as TS experienced), see next post for a better explanation of the problem. I'm using %pages and chrome.

I think i've found some consistency over here.

My site is http://www.mondayemployment.com

The menu item for the forum page will disappear on the forum page itself.
Also, the page menu fonts becomes smaller on pages other than the front page when viewed with IE.

Any help is much appreciated. TIA!

nhfang - i notice that your site has two <head> and two </head> statements. This is probably one of the things causing issues. Please fix that and see if you still have a problem.

Hi juggledad, sorry but I can't find the page with two <head> and </head> tags. Would you be able to let me know where to look? Thanks.

how are you developing this site? are you using DreamWeaver per chance?

nhfang Nov 23, 2010 10:00 PM

I used dreamweaver only for the home page template, the other pages are done purely in the wordpress interface.

juggledad Nov 24, 2010 03:59 AM

dreamweaver is adding the EXTRA HTML in. You need to fix that before going any further

p.s. I moved this to a new thread since it is not the same issue as the old thread

i solved the first page extra <head> problem by switching all the styles to inline style.. and deleting the original <head> section.. problem's still there though.. :(

hey juggledad, i solved the problem of the missing link by playing with the forum settings! But the problem of the menu fonts changing in IE still remains :(

nhfang Nov 25, 2010 03:47 AM

i just added the css inserts as found on some other threads, e fonts does look a little bolder in ie now, but still not quite as what's shown in chrome/firefox..

sometimes issues with the look of fonts between browsers can be browser or browser setting related. If you have zoomed in on a page, it will look bigger in that browser than the other. It can also be just how the broswer displays the font.

Oh wouldn't web development be easier if all browsers acted the same way for all versions...:(

Lol.. yeah, thanks for your help :)
