[SOLVED] RSS Feed Question

Sorry for the stupid question but how do I get the RSS feed button to go the page that allows someone to choose their RSS reader preference such as Google reader. When I click the RSS button I get a statement that says,

"This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."

Then there is a full page of text. I deactivated my caching plugin but this is still at the bottom of the long page of text that comes up.

I've looked at the Wordpress site but have not found and answer. Again I want to click the RSS icon and be taken to a list of RSS readers to choose from not a huge page of text.

Thank you,

It looks like your feed page is just a raw xml file. You should be able to embed it into a wp page that will give it style.

With montezuma, you can put sidebars anywhere, even into the content area of your template. Try making a special template for your feed page, put a sidebar into the content area, put an rss widget into that sidebar, and then put your xml feed into that widget. It should work.

1) your feed works fine for me (on a mac), when I click it, MAIL opens and I get a dialog box asking if I want to subscribe.

2) Montezuma uses the WordPress 'bloginfo()' function to link to the the feed. The options can be found at http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/bloginfo and the code for the button is in the virtual sub-template 'header.php'

Just a heads up to anyone else who has the same issue I ran into. It seems to be an issue with Google Chrome. The RSS button works fine in Firefox and IE 9.0

To fix this you can download the RSS Subscription Extension (by Google) at the Chrome Web store. Better yet download the plugin "Primary Feed Burner." Here's an article that put me on the right path. http://www.wpbuddy.net/fix-rss-feed-...google-chrome/
