[SOLVED] Not sure if I've upgraded

Under Appearance, Themes it says 3.7.1. is my current theme, but under Atahualpa theme options it still says I'm using 3.4.9 and there's a new version available.

So far I manually downloaded and did my best to copy over all the pertinent files. Then also uploaded the old settings file and saved.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

Nicole

You don't need to upload the setting file as the new theme should just see the setting in the database. You might try activating the Twenty Eleven theme and activate 3.7.1. I had to do that in one of my upgraded for the new theme to "stick".

Ok thanks - I'll give that a try in the morning...

Well that worked thank you - except - and it really would have been a miracle if I had done everything correctly - now when I click on theme options, non of the formatting of the options pages - i.e. the nice blue boxes show up. I can see all the menus and options just not formatted.

I must have copied over an important file - I'm guessing a style sheet - can you possibly point me in the right direction as to which file and what directory it should be in.

Many thanks!

Just adding that now I see others have had a same problem with the disappearance of the theme's menu styling, but I must admit I haven't quite understood the solutions. I have reuploaded the theme - this time being very careful only to copy over my header images, and I have the same menu problem.

Also when I click on any of the menu items, nothing happens...

I've reverted to the old version for now.

You need to re-enable the menu in Appearance>Menus
Also if you supply a link to the site it is easier to troubleshoot.

sorry - I've tried to figure this out too - but how do re-enable the menu

in Appearance>Menus everything is greyed out, there's a place to add a menu name but I don't think I have one

apologies again - I'm always stumbling around in the dark with this stuff...

I'm kinda stumbling as well. It is often tough to troubleshoot without seeing the backend of the site. It sounds like you are using the default Atahualpa menu rather than the WordPress menu so that is not your particular issue. What I am not clear on is what you mean when you say
"none of the formatting of the options pages - i.e. the nice blue boxes show up. I can see all the menus and options just not formatted."
AND
"when I click on any of the menu items, nothing happens..."
Can you clarify?

I certainly appreciate your help - hopefully a couple of screenshots will help describe my problem. One screenshot show the Atahualpa theme menus as I'm used to seeing them (the blue version) and the other shows what I see after the upgrade. Also none of the links actually work. I notice that when I go to activate the new theme, the preview is blank even though the activate button does work.

Does that clarify at all?

I would try reuploading 3.7.1 just to make sure something didn't happen with the first upload. I would also try deactivating all your plugins but since this issue didn't happen with your previous version I suspect that is not the issue.

I had tried that without success but glad to report that I decided to try the automatic install and it worked. Had to copy over a few things - but now at last I'm finally up to date with WP and Atahualpa - and the theme menus are working.

Thanks for your help!
