WP e-commerce categories page problem

Now that I've switched to Atahualpa theme, the WP e-commerce 3.8.7.2 plugin on my wordpress site is no longer displaying product categories when I click on them. Instead I'm greeted with the name of the category and then "Updating cart…" message below that, without any products in it.

I've read this thread already

http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthr...cart...&page=2

however this doesn't really solve my issue even though I've tried the mentioned methods. Plus the thread is a couple of months old and new updates have since rolled out, which still seems to have this problem.

I'd be really grateful if someone can help me get my products page to display properly with Atahualpa theme, seeing as it works with other themes.

Thanks so much!

WP-ecommerce seems to have a reputation of being problematic. I would check on their site to see what others have come up with for solutions unless of course someone in this forum is using it with Atahualpa and can give you a jump start.

I've seen several people using this plugin and reporting issues here, also according to this thread as well:

http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=13906

However none of the solutions on that thread can solve my issue.... I've also posted on WP e-commerce forums but it seems more like something to do with Atahualpa theme since other themes seem to play fine. I'm in a bit of a bind right now, Atahualpa is perfect in that it can be so customizable and I've got a great design set up which other themes can't be done with. However I also need WP ecommerce as well since none of the other ecommerce plugins has as much functions...

Do you have a way to simply test the free copy of wp-ecommerce with Atahualpa just to see which line of code needs to be modified? I'm really quite desperate after searching all over the internet for a solution and can't find one, I just need to get this sorted out and everything will be great :(

Thanks! I'm willing to donate if that can help.

I did a VERY QUICK test and here is what happened.
  • I have quite a few plugins installed on my test site and the install failed the first time and I had to delete the plugin via ftp.
  • I then deactivated some plugins and got the same results
  • I then deactivated all the plugins and was able to install wp e-commerce
  • I added a single category and a single product
  • I added the category to my menu
  • I went to the category and clicked add to cart
  • I added the shopping cart widget to the sidebar
  • I was unable to see the products added on the category page but was able to see the products added to the cart on other pages
I would try deactivating some other plugins to see if that helps your situation. My initial issues with even installing put up some red flags.

Thanks for replying! When you added a product and then added this product to a category, we're you able to see that that one product in the product category page and were you able to click the "add to cart" button next to the product to add it? Or did you see anything like my situation where I see the product name but below that I get a message saying "Updating Cart..." and no interaction possible with the product, I can't even click on the product itself to access the individual product page...

Do you think this is an issue of third party plugin or a line of code in Atahualpa that need to be changed? I only have two plugins... one is wp ecommerce and the other one is nextgen gallery which I have disabled and doesn't seem to be the cause..

I was able to add to the cart and see it in the cart.

Do you think it's something to do with version issues? I've tried different versions of wp ecommerce but haven't tried other versions of Atahualpa or Wordpress, do you think I should delete everything and start from scratch with a previous version of Wordpress?

Have you tried disabling ALL your plugins except ecommerce?
