[SOLVED] Correct CSS to set maximum width of center area, yet retain fluid header ima
I have built a site on Atahualpa 3.5.3 and Wordpress 3.0.1 here:
http://lotuseterneforum.com/ I have the layout set as a fluid layout at 100%. I would like the large header images in the background to work like a fluid layout, and expand as necessary to fit the viewer's browser. Images up to 1400px wide will be in the header. Yet I would like to set a limit on the main center area content, at say 1000px. I've tried using CSS max-width and width on various body IDs to no avail. I'm not sure if I am approaching this correctly in the first place, or exactly which CSS ID I need to modify. Alternatively, should I set the site at a fixed layout of 1000px and make the header images behave in a fluid way with width beyond 1000px? If this is the better option how can I accomplish this? I've researched the CSS "overflow" attribute but I'm not sure if that is what I would want to adjust if this alternative route is indeed the better design. Can anyone offer any help? Thank you. |

Thank you for your help, but I have now decided to take the design in a different direction.
