Help needed: Right Sidebar display trouble correlated to post page?
Hello,
I have a strange situation with right sidebar not displaying with the main post page. I just want it to be there all the time. All boxes checked. It just does not show on the homepage - the page with post flow. The interesting part is that I also have left sidebar, that has all the setting set the same, and I have no problems with that. It's ONLY right sidebar that does not show. It looks like a bug to me. Any ideas please? I can use the left sidebars instead, though it isn't that pretty, but I find this intriguing. Version of Atahualpa 3.4.9 Unfortunately I cannot update for some time now. |
Well not having the URL to look at the site, makes figuring out what's wrong hard. Does the footer show up? If not I suspect that something in a post is causing a problem.
If you did a copy from a word doc, that can cause problems |
Hi,
I am having this exact same problem. It only started recently (that I noticed). The right sidebar came back when I unpublished the post. I also cut all the content and re-pasted from notepad/plain text to no avail. I just made a new post and the same thing happened - and thats how it is now. No right sidebar on the blog page (archive and post pages all seem fine). URL: www.beagleybrown.com/designosaur I am using version 3.4.9 of the theme. Any help would be HUGELY appreciated. |
Taniab, you have an <style...>in the post but no </style> so everything is thought to be in the style and nothing shows.

BRILLIANT! Thank you Juggledad... :)

Hmm, whilst adding </style> to all the posts that had an open <style> seemed to work, I've now just tried re-publishing an old post that also caused the sidebar to disappear... however it doesn't have an open <style> tag? Any ideas?
The post in question is this one: http://www.beagleybrown.com/topographic-typography/ When I un publish it and make it a draft the sidebar re-appears on the main blog page, when I publish it the sidebar disappears. I have re-written it all without pasting anything so that shouldn't be the issue. I'm confused? Perhaps I didn't fix the issue right in the first place? Here is an example of how I added the </style> tags: <img class="alignright" src="http://www.beagleybrown.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/BLOG_eyecandy.jpg" style="border:0px; padding:0px;" alt="Designosaur's eye candy"></style> Any further help would be much appreciated. |
That page looks fine to me - did you fix it?

Hi, thanks for reply. Unfortunately its still broken...
The issue is on the main blog page: http://www.beagleybrown.com/designosaur/ But the link I gave previously is to the post that seems to be causing the sidebar to disappear (because when it is un-published the sidebar re-appears). Unless its something else entirely? Hope you can help me! Thanks... |
Oh, thanks (I thought I'd checked them all... twice!).
I have that code in the post because I don't want it to apply to all images, just ones where I have a dinosaur character with speech bubble image at the bottom. Although perhaps there is a neater way of me achieving the no borders style for certain images? Thanks again! |
