change text on 'not found'
Hi, this is my last post for today.
I have so far been able to adjust and costumize the theme well, but I could't change the text on the not-found-page. I put in new text where the English sentences were in the editor > not_found.php, but it doesn't show on the site (not even after refreshing). Any idea? Thanks a lot in advance, Ilke |
That text can be changed in the language PO files
|
Oh, I could have looked more thoroughly. Well, the title changed, but not the message.
I'll try further, thanks already. |
That text is in the template_tags.php file
|
Wonderful, thank you! That was easy.
I just have to love this forum! |
when translating the text, you really should use the montezuma.pot file instead of changing the actual theme code. That's why the POT is provided.
|
I had done that, but without any effect.
It is quite confusing. In the Montezuma Options there is an option to change the comments title, but that had no effect either. I was able to adjust that via the comments_form.php. And then there is the montezuma.pot and the template_tags.php that all seem to provide options to change the text / language. Is there any hierarchy, or how do I know which one to edit? So far I simply went by what worked. Ilke |
If you are going to use the po file, you need to read about translating wordpress into your language at wordpress.org for explanations better that I could provide you
|
I am running the German WP, but the default text in Montezuma is English. And all translations have been done, so it's fine.
|
You are correct, Montezuma defaults to English so if you want to use it in another language you have to do the translation. This is true for many themes. If you have created a po file for German please post it for others to use also.
The 'next' ansd'previous' should get translated (according to my understanding) since they are output tend by some of the base WP code. |
