new to wp, looking to customize with sidebars & widgets, please help
 

Hi there!

Looks like a great community, glad to have found this resource as I am desperate for help. :o

I hired someone (for more than I can afford) to customize the main page and break it up into sections by adding tables, and now what I have is a set of tables on every page.

Originally I was using the sidebars function in Atahualpa but I'm developing this for my partner and he wants something more customized and dynamic for the main page, so we went with something different for the main page.

How do I edit so to remove the tables and add customized sidebars and widgets outside of the theme options?

I've been reading up and figuring it out but there is so much to know! Where is the best way to begin?

I'd appreciate any help you can offer. Step by step instructions are good. :)

What version of Atahualpa, WP and PHP?

If someone edited the theme code, you can just reinstall the theme. As for adding customized sidebars and widgets outside the theme - why? Atahualpa gives you up to 4 sidebars (2 on each side) and you can put widgets all over. (see 'add New Widgets Area')

If you are going to go into the code to make all kind of changes, why not write your own theme, it's going to be just as hard/easy.
