[SOLVED] How to remove title tag/text when hovering over "Recent Posts" in sidebar wi

I have searched for a solution for this with no success. Any assistance is appreciated.

I want to remove the title tags (little text popups) that display when hovering over post titles in the "Recent Posts" sidebar widget.

I avoided them in other other "manually created" widgets by not including them in the HTML, of course. But there is no way to remove html in widgets created by the theme (like the Recent Posts widget) as far as I can tell.

See Recent Posts in right sidebar at www.renderyourvision.com. I am running Atahualpa 3.6.4 and WP 3.1.2.

Thank you,
Bob

to do that, you will have to edit the widget's code to remove the 'title=...' portion of the <a...> element. This is a WordPress widget, so you will have to hack the WordPress source.

look in wordpress->wp-includes->default-widgets.php

Thank you for the information. One more related question. If I make that change is it likely to be overwritten by a future Wordpress update? If so, it's not that important to need to keep track of. Thanks again for your feedback.

Yes... that would happen if you update.
