Page Bar: flanked by an image

Hi,
I am trying to configure the page bar so that on each side an image is displayed, i.e

image - pagebar - image

I resorted to changing bfa_header_config.php and change the variable page_menu_bar:

$page_menu_bar="<img src=>" . $page_menu_bar . "<img src=>";

This will however lead to problems when applying ATA updates.

Is there a way to solve this in CSS, by e.g. configuring horbar1 ?

thanks for your help

why not use the wordpress custom menu - put a dummy entry on both ends of the menu and use CSS to apply an image to each of the two dummy entries.

Sounds like a good plan :).
But apologies for sounding not up to scratch here: I tried to find what you suggested but could not locate how to do this in Dashboard->Menus.
Could you show me how you do what you proposed ?

Another way would be to add the two dummy menu entries at the beginning and the end of the menu as mentioned and then add the code for the images right in the "Link Text" field after putting a # in the "URL" field.

Here is a screenshot of what I mean.
