Strange positioning for Digg Digg plugin

Dear all,

I have just had a strange occurrence - where a couple of plugins that were working fine, have now decided to position themselves in a different place, as well as the correct place.

The two plugins are: "Like" and "Digg Digg"

You can see the issue here: http://www.fastdebtsolution.co.uk/

I have tried disabling all of the other plugins in case of a conflict, but the same happens when only the two plugins are active. I also have another website with this theme that is having the same issues.

This just seemed to start, without any changes to the site. I have since upgraded to wordpress v3 to see if that fixed the problem, and it didn't.

Any fixes would be appreciated.

Gordon

what other changes did you make to the site before it 'broke'?

gdrayson Jun 18, 2010 11:38 AM

Nothing - and the other site I haven't changed for ages - I really don't understand what is causing this.

I'd look at how you are using the plugin, go see what happens if you deactivate it.

If I ONLY have the two plugins activated, the problem is still there - but on other themes it works fine - it is definitely an issue with the theme.

I am happy to show you a different theme running with the same plugins activated if you think you can help...

I knotice that a number of <div>'s and and <iframe> is being dumped in the middle of the <head> which is wrong. this is what is showing up
HTML Code:

<meta property="og:url" content="http://www.fastdebtsolution.co.uk/" />
<div class='dd_post_share dd_post_share_right'><div class='dd_buttons'><div class='dd_button'><iframe src='http://api.tweetmeme.com/button.js?url=http://www.fastdebtsolution.co.uk/&amp;source=&amp;style=normal' height='61' width='50' frameborder='0' scrolling='no'></iframe></div></div></div><!-- Social Buttons Shared Counts Generated by Digg Digg plugin v4.0.6,
    Author : Yong Mook Kim
    Website : http://www.mkyong.com/blog/digg-digg-wordpress-plugin/ -->

<!-- Facebook Like Button v1.9.5 BEGIN [http://blog.bottomlessinc.com] -->
<iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fastdebtsolution.co.uk%2F&amp;layout=standard&amp;show_faces=false&amp;width=450&amp;action=like&amp;colorscheme=light" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:450px; height: 30px; align: left; margin: 2px 0px 2px 0px"></iframe>
<!-- Facebook Like Button END -->

Now Atahualpa isn't generating that code so something else. Did you put anything in the ATO->Add HTML/CSS Inserts->HTML Inserts: Header??

I don't quite understand this - I see the iFram and div, but can't see how they got there. I have another site using the exact same plugins, and they don't have this issue - http://www.childrenspartytips.co.uk/...rime-minister/

I couldn't tell you without digging into the site. If you'd like me to do that, send me a PM and I'll quote you my rate.

Ok - I have found out which plugin is causing the issue - it is one called "like" - you can add it from the add plugin option, but need to search for the tag (not term) "like"

The strange thing is that it only has this issue with this theme - other themes are fine. Could it be that this theme has an error that is allowing the plugin to add this code in the <head> area?

I guess this issue is too difficult for people to understand, and find a fix for. :-(

I see on your site that you probably already figured out that this problem occurred when the "Use Excerpt as Description:" was selected in the Open Graph options.

gdrayson Oct 15, 2010 03:41 PM

No - I never did find out the solution I used another plugin...

Is this the reason. Where is that setting?
