[SOLVED] HOWTO: set page name

hi,

i want to create a page that has a specific file name e.g. "september16"

www.mysite.com/september16

i know how to create a new page (rather than post), but how do i set/change the file name that appears so i can send people to www.mysite.com/september16 and without any suffix, etc. thanks for any suggestions - really appreciate it!

You have to set you permalink structure and just edit the permalink of the page to whatever you want. Look in Settings>Permalinks and then in your page at the top.

hi thanks! looks like i can just set this one page/filename in change permalinks/custom structure, right? so that only changes the name for the one file/page right? thanks again

In the permalink custom structure box you use one of the predefined structures or define your own using the code as seen there. It might look something like this. You just have to have %postname% last. Then you go to the page you want to link to and change its permalink to whatever you want like this example.
