[SOLVED] Change background color for a widget area?

I have added a widget area to my header section. Here is the code for it:

<?php bfa_widget_area('name=below logo'); ?>

I do not understand the example given in the Add New Widgets Area section of the configuration.

The site is http://dev.billthelibrarian.com . I want to change the style for the area showing the Social networking icons. The widget there is Social Media Widget. I would like to add different background color and possibly a border around it. I have tried using class in the style sheet.

I think I got. Just needs fine tuning now.
