Unwanted Duplicate widgets
I am setting up my blog with Atahualpa 3.4.4 and WP 2.8.6 I have the blog set up in a 3 column, Wide-thin-thin layout and For some reason I have unwanted widgets in the right sidebar, specifically, duplicates of "recent posts" and "blogroll," in addition to "Meta." However, when I check the Widgets area under "Appearance," it claims there are no widgets there.
Any ideas? Sorry if this is a dopey question. I am a WP newbie, having moved over from MT. Thanks! Wtihnail |
this is a 'feature' of wordpress. By default, if you don't have any widgets, wordpress adds some for you. Once you add a widger to the sidebar, the default widgets in that sidebar will go away.

Thanks! Do you think you can also give me some hints on creating and p[lacing widgets that don't seem to be "standard?" Such as Flickr boxes or Advertising areas?
Thanks! Mark |
do a google search with 'wordpress plugin xxxxxxx' where xxxxxxx is what you are looking for and then down load the plugin, upload it to your site and follow the installation instructions.
I use Tags, Recent Comments, calendar, categories, and the archives widgets to name a few. Play a little and you will learn. If you want personal training, I also do that, send me a PM and I'll tell you my rates. |
