Change font color in Sidebar Widget current-page
Hello everyone,
Firstly I would like to say that this forum is an incredible resource, and thanks for all of the amazing effort everyone puts in to it. OK, so I am stuck on a seemingly simple problem. I have trawled the BFA forum as well as elsewhere but haven't found a solution that works for me. I have a sidebar widget (Flexible Posts Widget) to list my posts in the sidebar. Easy enough to change the color in Style Widgets, but for the life of me I cannot modify the color of the Current Page. Basically I just want the current post title to Change Color when active, in order to not need to use headings or titles within the post itself. (It is a list of artists, if that makes a difference.) I have only made a couple of CSS additions and they are for the Page Menu, so shouldn't affect the sidebar at all. The site is also still under construction so I cannot link to it. Let me know of that is needed and I will allow access. Any thoughts woud be appreciated. Oh, I'm using Atahualpa 3.7.7 (i know.. update) and WP 3.5.1 Thanks in advance. Jason. |
I really need to see the site to have a chance of determining what you need to do or even if it can be done.

Hi there, I thought that might be the case.
http://mappingsouth.net/edmonds-clarke/ OK, so its still in development, but I'd really like to try to solve this issue, if possible. It is the left sidebar that I would like to have the artists name remain in the selected colour while the viewer is on that page. I know it is a CSS trick, and I believe it is within the flexible posts widget, but I am unable to solve it myself. Any advice would be very much appreciated. |
I don't see a way to do what you want with the way the plugin is built. I of course could be missing something however.

Thanks for looking. I'll post back if I find a solution.

the issue is you need to have a class like 'current-page' added to the link of the current page. there is an explaination of how to copy a file from the plugin to the theme if you want to make modifications to it, but you are going to have to write some PHP code and look at some of the WP functions to try to get this done.
once you add teh class, the rest is a snap. |
Thanks for the tip. I'll play around with it and post the code here if I make it work so others can use it in the future.
