[SOLVED] How to insert a comment counter into my blog's main page

I somehow managed to delete the bar below each post on my blog's main page that gives the date of post and who posted it along with the number of comments in the post. I am ok with that bar being gone entirely- but I do want some sort of icon next to each post showing the number of comments. Is this possible?

My blog is here: www.kimberlygill.com/blog-2

Thanks in advance.

If you look at ATO>Edit Post/Page Info items you will all sorts of ways to display comments, authors, etc in various places. For instance if you put.
HTML Code:

<image(comments-gray.gif)> %comments('Leave a comment', 'One comment', '% comments', 'Comments are closed')%
in the Footer:Homepage box you will have a small icon followed my the number of comments for that post but only on the homepage. Try reading through that page as that is the best documentation for this functionality.
