adding php code in footer

I had the same question I asked here, but now I want the same for the footer. Is it possible?

I think I can do this?
<table style="margin:-25px 0px -20px -10px" width="990" height="500" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" background="<?php bfa_widget_area('name=footer_image_area'); ?>">
<tr>
<td valign="top"><p>&nbsp;</p>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

Now I get this HTML code
<p>
</p><div id="text-3" class="widget widget_text">
<div class="textwidget">http://www.wesbitename.nl/wp-content/themes/atahualpa/images/background.png</div>
</div>"&gt;
<table style="margin: -25px 0px -20px -10px;" footer_image_area"="" class="bfa_widget_area" align="center" background="&lt;div id=" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" height="500" width="990"><tbody><tr>
<td valign="top">

In Footer content I got his
<table style="margin:-25px 0px -20px -10px" width="990" height="500" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" background="<?php bfa_widget_area('name=footer_image_area'); ?>">

I just did a copy/paste of your code from post #1 in the footer area and I get a new widget area and when I put in a widget, it shows up in the footer.

go to export/import settings, export your settings and attach to a reply

Here you got my settings as attachment.

In the footer I got this and I get a new widget, that's not the problem.

In the footer HTML I get this as ouput:
<p>
</p><div id="text-3" class="widget widget_text">
<div class="textwidget">http://www.wesbitename.nl/wp-content/themes/atahualpa/images/background.png</div>
</div>"&gt;

and
<table style=background="&lt;div id=">

Your settings doesn't show a widget area in the footer area - did you remove it? if so did you also delete the widget area (ato->New Widget Area->Delete custom Widget Areas) - you have to remove any widget that was in the area first.
