[SOLVED] How to change "home" page

I'm brand new to WP and happy to have found this GREAT theme and online support. I have several questions but will post each with unique subject line in what I hope will be the correct areas. I have two related questions that may not quite belong here. I'd like to make a static page my homepage and I'm not seeing how to do that. AND... I've renamed the "home" page to "blog" and added it to the header menu. But I can't seem to find a way to make the sidebar version of the same menu display that link.

Evolving page is at http://www.bonnietarses.com/blog.

Thanks for your help.
Sheila

wordpress dashboard->settings->reading

Thanks...that was SIMPLE!

Now...is there any way to include the "blog" link in the "pages" list in the sidebar?

Thanks so much.

it should display automatically. you create a page and then point to it as the blog page at wordpress dashboard->settings->reading

Are you not seeing ita?

I guess as a newbie I was thinking in a different paradigm! Up to now I've designed static sites. I have made several static pages. They are listed across the top and include the "home" page which I've renamed "blog". Then I've also included the static "pages" as a list in the left sidebar. I wanted a Home button there that would take you to the Current blog posting. But I guess having all the categories and archives in the sidebar may be sufficient. They are indeed displaying. And I haven't made a static homepage yet, but if I do then it would display there.

So much to learn to develop in WP.
Thanks for being so responsive and helpful.
