Strange loading behaviour
For a few days, when one of my sites loads it is showing a "waiting for" message refering to a site that is nothing to do with mine. A couple of people have also told me that they were mysteriously diverted to other sites - one porn and one embroidery (!). I checked with my ISP and they checked but could see anything at the time. It's still doing so tonight on www.the-confidant.info. What do you reckon is the best way for me to track this down myself?
Thanks, Graham |
You may have been hacked or one of the sites you get ads from could have been hacked
You could ty using the 'wordfence' plugin to scan your site as a start |
Thanks Juggledad
Wordfence seems a really useful plugin - thanks for the pointer there! It found one problem, which is apparently a common one, so I've fixed that. The problem with the waiting issue is still there though. I don't carry ads per se, but there's a couple of plugins that may be triggering this, so I'll try disabling them. Thanks again. Graham |
You are accessing 16 different sites from your site. If one of them slows down, you will slow down...Here is the list of sites you are currently getting something from:
