[SOLVED] Header image not wide enough

www.GringoDog.com

I changed the ATO-Layout style to a 99% fluid width with a minimum width of 1100px. This seems to provide a better layout for most browsers.

However, now the custom header is too narrow. Is this something that I can adjust within Atahualpa or do I have to go back to the designer who did the header for me? If so, what width should I tell him to use, please?

Thanks again for everything you guys do.

It looks like your header image is smaller than 1100px so you probably need to talk to the designer

Thanks, that confirms what I was thinking. But is what I have set - 99% fluid and minimum width of 1100px a 'reasonable' width? When I had it set smaller, it looked very squished.

Thanks - I value your opinion and advice.

How wide you set your page width (and thence your image) depends on how wide of a monitor you think most visitors will have. Years ago, most people had a 800 x 600 monitor. I currently have two set at 1920 x 1080. My personal compromise is to have my site set to 1440 and have an image that is that big, but it truncates on the right and the important part of the image is on the left.

There are no hard and fast rules. and now with all the hand held devices, the game changes again...

Sigh. I was afraid you were going to say something like that.

Therefore, I will not mark this one as "solved." So there! :p ;)
