inline style in caption
 

I'd like to add a little color to a page by varying the color of the caption frame around images on a per-image basis. Can anyone help me understand how to do this?

I've tried using inline style commands like style="background-color: #FFCC66;" in the img tag and caption shortcode, but it does not seem to have an effect.
