[SOLVED] Atahualpa Post Options

New Install

New Site

Atahualpa 3.4.8

on

WordPress 2.9.2

Add New Post > Atahualpa Post Options is missing!?!

Has there been a change regarding Atahualpa Post Options ... do I need to do something?

Thanks.

KatyDigg May 9, 2010 08:11 AM

On my New Install New Site:

I have just installed Atahualpa 3.4.6 and all is as it should be i.e. Atahualpa Post Options correctly appears when creating NEW POST.

So, it would seem, there is an issue with the new version Atahualpa 3.4.8

paulae May 9, 2010 11:04 AM

I don't know the answer, but I and others had asked Flynn to make the Atahualpa Post Options an option itself. In other words, be able to choose whether it's available or not. I've found that many of our reporters get confused by it. They change a title but then forget to change it in the post options fields as well. It's not something we need, so I'd rather be able to turn it off. Maybe that's what Flynn has done in 3.4.8, but I don't yet see where it would be controlled.

I would suspect the Flynn either took it out or has not implemented it as yet. I prefer using the WP Title 2 plugin which doesn't confuse non-techies.

it's been disabled,

Thank you, everyone, for your response.

I can understand the issue and need for the Post Titles Option.

> Body Title Single Pages
> Body Title Multi Post Pages
> Meta Title

Has Atahualpa Post Options been disabled temporarily whilst setting up Option(s)in ATO ??

What about Meta Title?

Presently, of course, I am without the 2 following functions:

> Meta Keywords

> Meta Description

Both of which, in addition to Meta Title, I have been using.

What is the plan?

Thanks.

paulae May 9, 2010 04:14 PM

You could use an SEO plugin to produce those meta options on a per-post basis. All in One SEO Pack adds all of those fields under the post editing box.

KatyDigg May 10, 2010 01:04 AM

Thanks, Paulae

I understand you have been using All-in-One SEO Plugin.

However, on my MAIN existing site, from installation (last year) to present, I have only used Atahualpa SEO

of which has worked great - with Atahaulpa Meta Title, Meta Keywords, and Meta Description.

I am somewhat stunned that this has been disabled.

Now I am wondering as to what exactly is "Atahualpa's SEO features" ?

Bearing in mind "SEO features" is actually emphasized in Atahualpa 3.4.8 theme description.

Perhaps, any new user ought to be made aware that they need to install SEO plugin for SEO functionality?

Any existing user ... having employed Atahualpa SEO, in effect, has burden of extra work load due to disabled Atahualpa Post Options i.e. Meta Title, Meta Keywords, Meta Description and subsequent effect of having to "undo" and install an SEO Plugin.

Suggestion: Warning Box informing new users (and existing) of pending removal of feature, of which could be applied soonest, during an update, prior to being disabled/removed, of which would be read directly within theme.

Recent example would be, say, placed above Atahualpa Posting Options.

My hope is that Atahualpa 3.4.9 will present Option for Posting with SEO features Meta Title, Meta Keywords and Meta Description.

For I wish to continue with employing Atahualpa SEO.

I await confirmation/info from Flynn, understandably, as and when.

Thanks.

I've sent Flynn a note requesting this be an option that could be turned on/off in the theme

Thank you, Juggledad.

Much appreciated.

Atahualpa Post Options had a check box to exclude Title from Pages when posting!

Using Atahualpa 3.4.9

where is the Option to NOT display the Body Title on Single Post or Static Pages ??

Thanks, I really could do with an answer to this please.

Big Geek Daddy May 24, 2010 01:36 PM

I'm with Berean in that I'm a little stunned to find the Post Options have disappeared. It takes much longer and more prone to error to add each one using the custom fields.

Is this going to be an option or should we just install All In One SEO as Paulae suggests?

Larry May 24, 2010 03:49 PM

Thanks Juggledad for requesting the post options to be an "option" to turn on or off in the theme.

As mentioned in the above posts, I would like to have the post options available as I have been using them for over a year now. I don't need a plugin to potentially slow down my site just to add my title, description and keywords for me when I can easily add them as I'm adding the post itself.

Wimbledon May 24, 2010 06:31 PM

I am another member who often used the Atahualpa Post Options and would like them restored as an option as juggledad requested.

Crucially, I often used the option to NOT display the body title on static pages.

juggledad May 26, 2010 02:27 PM

There is now an option in 3.5.0 to use the Atahualpa Post Options

lmilesw May 26, 2010 02:59 PM

Plus a new Fading Header option... Sweet.
