When "parent" clicked, "children" become active and don't change on hovering

I will use CastorTroy's site in this example.

Go to http://www.anomalousmaterial.com/movies/, hover over "THE MOVIE LISTS" and its children in the page menu bar. Notice that "THE MOVIE LISTS"'s submenu items are all black, and become golden when hovered over.

Then click on "THE MOVIE LISTS" (will be transfered to http://www.anomalousmaterial.com/mov...e-movie-lists/).

Hover again over "THE MOVIE LISTS" and its children in the page menu bar. Notice that "THE MOVIE LISTS"'s submenu items are all golden, and do not change color when hovered over.

Is it possible to change this behavior? When "parent" clicked, I'd prefer the "children" items stayed in the "non-active" state. E.g. in case of CastorTroy's site, when "THE MOVIE LISTS" clicked and becomes golden, the sub-items should stay black.

Thanks!

I have that situation on one of my sites and decided to live with it but would love to see the CSS for that as well.
