Plain text (no links) in menu bar

Hi:

I'm trying to add a couple of plain text items to the Category menu bar, which I was told you could do by adding the typical # link in the WP menu and then removing the # and saving the menu.

The problem is that Ata is styling the text items differently, so not only am I not getting rid of the hover color, but also, now those items appear in a larger font size, causing them to kind of jump out of the allocated space.

I just need to know what to target in CSS to override this. Or maybe there is an easier way that I'm missing?

Thank you! :o

use FireBug in FireFox and examine a menu item that is a link and copy all it's CSS rules. Then look at the menu item that is NOT a link and create a CSS selector for it and use the CSS rules you copied.

Teaching me to build my own fire--nice! ;)

Thank you Juggledad.

BTW, why not leave it as a dummy link?

Well, my client didn't want people thinking something was broken when they saw the hover and the finger cursor but then nothing happened if they clicked on it. I had a background with company name already, and I thought about putting the two text items into the background, but one of them is a phone number, and it's nice if that turns into a call link on mobile, so real text seemed better.

I don't know why I have always resisted debuggers--that was actually really helpful!
