Main content area table overlapping header

The site is jkstest.info and the home page has one large table in the main content area with a 560 X 1020px background image behind the entire table.

The image overlaps the header area by maybe 80 or so pixels. The actual size of the header area background image is 505 pixels, but I increased the ATO>header Image> Header Image Height to 560 px in an attempt to force the table down.
I also tried adding an override to the center column styling for the home page to vertical-align: bottom; which didn't work.
Two questions:
1.Am I correct that the "better" method to move the table down is to address the fact that the header image doesn't know it needs to take up 505 vertical pixels on the page? ("better" = less headaches as I attempt to build the other pages)
2. How to force the header image to display for 505 px?
Thanks!
