problem with favicon and new image location

Interestingly, the permissions were set to your suggestions before I even checked them. I have updated two sites this way all works well, but the favicon is not showing even though it is in the ata-images folder. Should I also be going to ATO/Add Favicon and deleting new-favicon.ico or does that matter?

I will be donating thank you

It will try to load the favicon you name ato->Add a FAVICON->FAVICON from the wp-content/ata-images folder

OK I can do that.

Yes, but it is not doing that.

the permissions are correct and here is the screen capture of the folders. What am I doing wrong in both cases?

Try renaming the facicon.ico and of course put that same name in the theme settings. I have had issues where the name had to be changed.

and remember to empty any caches (if you have a plugin) on the site and your browser cache.

I am uncertain about what you mean about putting it into Theme Settings as well.

Do you mean that I have it in ata-images folder AND in wp-content/themes/atahualpa/images/favicon as well??

let me see if I can recap this issue. You have setup a couple sites with with the new settings and everything works fine except the favicon is not working.

try this, rename the file 'favicon.ico to bbbicon.ico and go into the theme options and change ato->Add a FAVICON->Favicon from 'favicon.ico' to 'bbbicon.ico' and see what happens.

Hi,
favicon not working for me either. I have tried to put it into:

* my new image directory (wp-content/ata-images)

* a new favicon directory which I thought worth a try (following the structure of the old ATA version: wp-content/ata-images/favicon)

Neither work.

Header works fine.

So far tried it on only one of my sites: http://www.dievogelschule.com

Thanks,
Ann.

I had never tried the favicon with the new relative path structure so I just went and did as the instructions say and all worked fine. Without knowing what someone did it's hard to conjecture what might be the issue.

I see the favicon...did you empty your browser cache?

Big favor:

Could you pretty please with sugar on top go to
closed-circle.net
and
http://www.janefancher.com/HarmoniesOfTheNet/

and see if they have their favicons? I've been having the same issue. I've emptied my cache...first thing I did when they disappeared, but still don't see the images.

Thanks!

I see your favicon at harmonies of the Net but not closed Circle

juggledad May 12, 2013 01:46 PM

ou sure you have the correct spelling and the permissions? the file should have 664
HTML Code:

http://www.closed-circle.net/wp-content/images/ccicon.ico

SharonJ Mar 11, 2015 11:23 AM

664 or 644?

I am having this problem again. I usually set the folders to 755 and the folder contents to 644

I am working with an unfamiliar host which has the a very weird set up to set permissions
This is 644. But the favicon is still not showing
