[SOLVED] uploading exported settings text file
I attempted to test the export/import feature and it doesnt appear to be working.
I downloaded the text file to my desktop, scrolled to bottom of page and clicked the upload button but it takes me to the top of the page. no prompt to upload or anything that i noticed. |
I wish I had seen this before I updated my theme and lost my settings! I exported them as you've discussed but was unable to import them. I really hope someone has a solution, or I will have lost many hours of work. I did find that I was being given an extremely brief error message as the page reloaded - I attached a screenshot to another reply on this issue, you can see it here: http://forum.bytesforall.com/attachm...9&d=1295728714
Please help, anyone in the know! |
what version did you export them from and import them to?
You could install the prior version in a separate folder (like atahualpa353) and activate the old version, import the theme settings then activate the current theme. |
I did do a fairly large version jump - I think the previous install was 3.4.7 and it was updated to 3.6.1. Thanks very much for the suggestion, I'll give that a try.

So I reinstalled 3.4.7 and that install also will not accept the import of the settings file. Although there's no error message this time, it happens as burnhamg described in his original post.
Anyone have a solution to this problem? Many thanks. |
Attach the file to a reply - use the paper clip icon

I'm having a theme settings error too -- i'm trying to copy the theme settings from one install to another. Both are 3.6.1.
When i try to import, i briefly get the error message that the file is not a valid atahualpa themes setting file. Weird, right? |
Try exporting your setting file again and see what happens. If that doesn't work attach your setting file to a reply.

Alright, here she is. Still no luck with it though.

You are the second export I have seen with line wraps that shouldn't be there. Try importing the attached (I removed the line wraps).

amazing! that saved a lot of time.
Thanks! |
