Blockquote modifications not saving

I have the same problem that was mentioned earlier, but the topic was closed without anyone sharing the resolution.

I am trying to make the background of blockquotes match the background of the theme. They are defaulting to some white or gray color right now.

I have added the changes to ATO>Blockquotes and Blockquotes in Blockquotes styles.

Here is what I put for both:
color: #42834e;
padding: 1em 1em;
background: #c9f7b0;

Wordpress is just not recognizing this change no matter how many times I save and refresh the page.

Do you have a link to your site?
What are the versions of Atahualpa and WP?

justme Feb 16, 2014 06:53 PM

Atahualpa 3.7.13
WordPress 3.8.1

Thanks for taking a look at it!

You do realize you have a caching plugin active don't you?
With the plugin active, you have to flush the cache or wait till the cach expires to see any changes you make. I recommend you shut it off while making changes.

In addition, your backgound color for the blockquote is the same as your page background color so they will merge together.

It looks like it is displaying as intended.

Ugh - thank you. The cache plugin was included in the Wordpress install, and I didn't even see it was there. This is my first time building anything on Yahoo hosting.

This has been caching hell-week for me on the Dreamhost web sites, too. First Dreamhost insisted very tiny sites were using "too many resources" on an "unlimited" bandwidth account. In the process of fixing that, I discovered WP Super Cache doesn't work anymore. I installed Hyper-cache, but I couldn't get the timer on the cron job to start. Then I tried W3 Total Cache, which totally broke one of the sites, and deleting the plugin folder manually didn't fix it. Dreamhost, which recommended W3 Total Cache, hasn't done a thing to help fix it, even though they recommended a switch to that plugin.

I wish Wordpress would just build caching into the core so the average user could just turn the darned thing on and off.

Yeah, this wasn't my choice. The client had already paid Yahoo for several years. :(

But given the whole Dreamhost caching saga, I'm kind of glad it wasn't there, either.

Anyway, thank you for fielding what was a pretty stupid question.
